As a prototyping engineer you will work in the R&D team together with our expert engineers in the field of plasma, electricity, physics, chemistry and software. With these colleagues you design, build and test setups, carry out measurements and provide reports. Your work will cover building laboratory setups and making prototypes. Your background in Electrical Engineering will provide you with a solid base to convert the requests from research into working setups and prototypes. However the work is not limited to electrical design work. Physical prototypes and lab setups require mechanical parts as well. Your role also includes mechanical design and fabrication. You are able or interested to learn to make metal or plastic parts by, for example, (conventional) turning and milling. Next to the design of the setups and prototypes you can also help the researchers with automating and controlling the laboratory setups. You are practical, willing to learn and have a hands-on mentality. You are a real team player who facilitates his department.
